Release [MOD] AniDB.net scrapers for TV shows and Movies
I have used this addon for several days, and I just like it so much. But only ONE question here:
How can I show these titles as Japanese? (The Anidb.net do has Japanese episode titles)

Thanks.

That's actually a fairly interesting omission on the part of the scraper. It's hard-coded to only ever use the English episode titles.

Should be a fairly easy fix to the code. I just need to take the code that handles the different language show titles and adapt it to work on the episode titles as well.

Assuming it is that easy, I'll update the scraper tomorrow with the fix.

One day late. Not too bad...

New feature in 2.2.0

Episode titles will now attempt to use the "Official language" setting (when you have the "Use the Official name" setting switched on).

Defaults to English if it's not available in that language.

Happy with 2.2.0, it works very well.
Thanks for your great job!

Hi, quick question. I seem to be having issues scraping episodes, and I'm not sure if it's because Kodi grabbed two separate version of AniDB.net [MOD]. One of them is 2.1.0 and the other is 2.2.0. Is there any way to disable/uninstall 2.1.0? There's not the usual button that lets me do so. Great scraper, and thanks for all your work on this!

Okay, I have a little confession to make. When I initially uploaded the update, I accidentally zipped up the wrong folder. I noticed and fixed the error pretty quickly (basically as soon as I downloaded it myself to test), so there was only a 10-15 minute window where it could screw someone up. It sounds like you managed to fall in that window. Sorry about that.

You need to find the zip file that's been saved to your computer and delete it, just trying to update from inside Kodi won't work because it will just keep using that saved file.

If you're on Windows, the file is in %APPDATA%\Kodi\addons\packages and is called metadata.tvshows.anidb.net.mod-2.2.0.zip

Alternatively, you can go to the File manager (wiki) in Kodi and add special://home/ as a source, and find and delete it through there (that should be system-agnostic).

You may also need to restart Kodi after deleting, as things went a little wonky for me trying to update again straight after, but they did eventually right themselves after restarting.

Ah, that was a bit of bad luck for me, but I followed your instructions and it is working again! I also needed to delete metadata.tvshows.anidb.net.mod in %APPDATA%\Kodi\addons and then restart Kodi.
Thanks again for your help, and for this scraper!

Hi, I have a question regarding trakt and watched status/scrobling. At the moment this doesn't seem to work for episodes outside season 1 for me. Is this a known issue or am I seeing something I should not.
i have attached a log, not sure if it will be helpful.

Hi, thanks for this mod. I only have a couple of issues with it. I have two shows that are not having episodes being picked up by the modded scrapper. One of which is Dragon Ball Z Kai, which has no problems with its episodes being seen by the regular AniDB scrapper. The other show is Tenchi Muyou! Ryououki (1994). No episodes are seen by the modded scrapper but at least the show is recognized. The regular scrapper doesn't even see the show. Both shows have been properly named by filebot. Anyone can help me with this? Thanks.

Is there a way I can install this add-on on my FireTV through adding a source so I get the updates and such when they come out automatically? I can't really work with the download link on page one due to using Kodi on a FireTv. Thanks!

Having trouble scraping the specials for Girls und Panzer (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?sho...e&aid=9227) Titles are being fetched correctly but the images/info are incorrect. S03 shows info for S07, then S04 for S08, and so on. I'm guessing it's out of sync with TVDB but I cant figure out why. How can i fix?

Hey, posted this on the GitHub but I noticed the last issue was in 2014.

Found the following errors with the list (otherwise it works amazingly)

Fate/Zero
http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?sho...e&aid=8160
Fate/Zero (2012)
http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?sho...e&aid=8880
Fate/Zero (TVDB)
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=...8956&lid=7

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014)
http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?sho...e&aid=9977
Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (2015)
http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?sho...&aid=10760
Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (TVDB)
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=...7004&lid=7

AniDB splits them up as aired, TVDB has them as one season. I think the mapping needs to be updated as the second half of both doesn't get metadata properly.

The only other major mapping issue I've found is that Ore Monogatari is missing tvdb data, despite the fact that it exists.
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=...7826&lid=7

The following are the only issues I found with various specials/ovas.
Infinite Stratos Special 1 (anidb) has no metadata from the TVDB, but I believe its there
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=...0011&lid=7

Toradora! Special 1 (True Meaning of Bento) needs to map to special 4 on the TVDB, not special 1
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesid...5416&lid=7

Lastly, Bakemonogatari seems to have the anidb specials order rearranged, from 2-4 being ep 13-14-15 to ep 1-3 being 13-14-15, the mapping might need to be updated too.

Hello,

The question might have been asked a million time (but I don't see how to find correct keywords to search for it).

All my anime are numbered from 1 to n.
For exemple, in my Naruto folder I have :
Naruto 1
Naruto 2
Naruto 3

Which is very explicit I think. (who care of puting any episode name in title, no fansub team from my knowledge).
Would you know a way to scan them and to recognize them ?

Checking your xml source file, I have doubt you can do it because I don't see this information, but I don't see how a scrapper can be useful if no title are recongnized on the way they are distributed online.

Any guess ?

@TheFireKahuna, @Augmatic: Sorry, I don't want you to think I've been ignoring you, I've just been super-busy lately (longer than that actually...).

I'll get some of your corrections up tomorrow (promise). However the Fate stuff will have to wait a little longer, as this seems to be part of a new policy at tvdb that affects a lot of split-cour shows, so I'm working on a more elegant fix, rather than having to remap every episode each time (basically by adding a single episode-offset attribute to the mapping list entry that will then get added directly to all the episode numbers for that show). Hopefully this will simplify some existing entries as well.

I have the basic notion of how to do this, it's just getting time to stare blankly at the code and figuring out exactly what needs to go where.
