I need some testers guys...

Memphiz, I just wanted to say that I've watched a few movies and TV shows on my ATV2 with the latest build and have yet to see a single issue/crash. CPU usage also appears to be lower across the board and, this may just be a placebo affect, everything just seems snappier now.

Cheers!

Just one thing i've found is that it's not scannig for library updates on startup, just nothing is happening, no progressbar or whastoever.

Hrmm. I'm using a shared MySQL databases and the scanning is done by the server so I haven't witnessed/tested this behaviour.

Since this is a custom build its only ment to be tested in relation to the h.264 playback - no support for anything else because its a build from me - not from the buildbot Wink

I did notice some video tearing? on some SD AVC h264 content.

It was as if the pixels in the middle bottom of the screen were being rendered in the out of position.

I haven't had time to switch builds and see if its a specific issue, but thought I'd throw it out there. I won't have time to test properly until tomorrow night unfortunately.

If I have helped you in any way, please forgive me, it was entirely accidental.

I just ran into the same issue with all AVC SD content. XVID and H264/X264 content is perfect. I had to roll back to the October Monthly build which fixed this issue.

Yeah I saw this as well.

Okay, just installed xbmc-20121111-891ad9c-master-atv2.deb from mainline, and there's no tearing.

But, there is approx 30% higher CPU usage.

What files can I get for you to assist in the Memphiz?

Also, is there still a link to your previous version, not sure if it had the same problem.

If I have helped you in any way, please forgive me, it was entirely accidental.

Yep just change gpu2gpu4 to gpu2gpu3 in the link. Mhhh

@manxam

whats the difference between avc and h.264 in your opinion?

@Cranial could you cut me a 50mb example (or if its only sd it can be 20mb maybe) for reproduction please?

Sorry memphiz, I was in the middle of watching some media at the time. It was meant to say AVC SD content tear but XVID does not. HD h264 content is perfect (mkv h.264 720p)

I just get a 404 not found error on that one, so can't test that build.

Here's the file: Sample Video

This tears running gpu2gpu4 build.

Debug Log: http://pastebin.com/RKQHwiNk

Steps: Start XBMC. Play local sample file. Quit XBMC.

*edit*

This is running xbmc-20121111-891ad9c-master-atv2.deb

Debug Log: http://pastebin.com/L79qpKGk

No tearing on sample video.

If I have helped you in any way, please forgive me, it was entirely accidental.

Please test with this (there was no gpu2gpu3 version sorry). If it works with gpu2gpu2 version i know what it might be (already to late to do tests on my own atm ...

Tested the same file with gpu2gpu2 and it still tears. Could even be a bit worse.
