I've just changed my living room around and I can now use the rear surround speaker (I previously used 5.1 but with the rear surround added it's now 6.1) but the configuration goes 5.1 > 7.0 > 7.1.

Where's 6.1?

I´m also using a 6.1 setup (1 rear speaker in the middle)
I´ve chosen 7.1 within xbmc and told my Denon receiver to mix those 2 additional rear speaker into one.
Works for me.
