Software specs:
XBMC 11.0
Linux Mint 13 with xfce
install method: ppa
confluence skin (default)
I was unable to find a SVN Revision number.
Hardware specs (yes it's old):
Main board: Asus P4b
Processor: Celeron 1.7GHz i686
Memory: 384MB (256+128)
HD's: 10GB for the OS, 40GB for data
USB wifi dongle
nVidia Geforce 2 MX200 16MB
Issue:
Installing add-ons does not work as expected for me.
When I go to the add-on menu, select an (any, doesn't matter which one) add-on and try to install it, the program freezes for maybe 10 seconds, and kicks me back to the list of available add-ons. Then, after a while, there appears a message next to the name that says "downloading 0%". After a few seconds, there's a busy icon on the lower right of the screen. After that, the downloading text is gone, but the add-on is not installed. I tried to wait it out (I figured maybe it was working in the background) but even after 2 hours there was no change.
My wifi connection is fine since I have no problems with streaming from either the internet or another computer in my home network.
My main goal here is installing the XBMC subtitle add-on, I don't care much about any other add-ons (now) so if there's a workaround I'm okay with that.
I've read something about installing from zipfiles. Is there a location I can get the zipfile? http://xbmc.org/download/plugins-scripts/ is still empty.
Thank you for helping me out here.
