[RELEASE] Qobuz : an add-on for the Qobuz music streaming service
#31
Great work! - I will have a play with this later. Does this version just scan the playlists or do we need to turn off recommendations still?

Smile You scan the items you want, then since the musicdb store http urls, it doesn't try to scan the whole plugin items.

Hurrah!.. must be time to start thinking about releasing this in the main plugins page? More people needs to use this!

yop it's close but let's iron the new bugs introduced by so much new code then we can dub it 1.0.0 and call it a release Smile

Works very nicely!

A few small bugs;

* It would be better to use the Album artist as the artist for each track rather than the track artist. This gives a better match in the Album Scraper and will stop some albums being split up into several parts where there are cover tracks or different authors.
Changes to httpd.py?

* I cannot see a way to remove albums that have been scanned in.

* Addon description has CRLF characters which display incorrectly in some skins.

Fantastic. I updated yesterday but had just a few minutes to test. I did not notice the scan was this implemented, I have to play a bit further, I only read the changelog.

I can't see my favorite artists, what do I miss ?

Second, I am not sure I get the qobuz friends concept, how does it work ? Still, it currently returns a script error (maybe because I have none at the moment).

I will give more feedback as soon as I can.

A plus l'équipe !

- Yep, it could be better, not sure using only "Album artist" field instead of "Track artist" is perfect, but perhaps we can use both.
- Nop. there is no remove item menu like videodb... (in fact an update without the specific album should remove it, but we need a way to tag it as removed.. so the httpd send 404.).
- Thks I'll update it Smile

- Enable scan in addon options (it's still experimental but maybe we can turn it on by default)
- well it's really missing Smile (need fix)
- you can "add friend" using the context menu on the friend item or by subscribing a playlist : all owners of subscrided playlists are added as friends. (will add qobuz.com by default)

A plus Smile

Like tidalf say thanks for feedback.

Quick answer:
  1. Favorite artist / Not implemented (Good feature and not time consuming, gone try to put it for next release)
  2. Library / One album for each track with 'VA Album'
I push a fix today that use album artist from album if album is known to be some sort of Various Artist (205d...)
  3. Library / Removing track, No clue on how to that Tongue

Feel free to push issue on github, i'm mono threaded dev without a real brain...

I have many albums that are not 'Various Artists' but have tracks written by different members of the band. Qobuz uses these as the track artist so the album gets split up. It is my opinion that Album Artist would be the best default option.

For the 'remove from library' function, could you not have a sort of 'unscan' feature that scanned the album ID and removed it from the database? This would keep it within the plugin and thus more manageable to code. (You could also have a function to purge all Qobuz material from the database)

0.11.2 in the repo (it fix some bugs and add a hack to fill covers in musicdb)...

and yeah, the album artist thing and the unscan are on the list Smile

I just had the opportunity to test the scan feature, and it works fantastically well. Great job. I have to test further for stability but so far I would say it does almost everything I need.

I do not really get the debate whether it would be better to album artist. I almost only listen to albums so when I scan it, it goes under the right artist. It might not be the case when scanning a playlist, is that the issue ?

Regarding my subscription, I still have to test the FLAC option as I am still using MP3.

Nice Smile

The thing about the right artist is principally problematic on the compilations, XBMC should pick the good one using a algorithm described here (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add...le_Artists) but since we scan tracks instead of albums, it seems that it doesn't work. So we have to find a workaround...(scanning albums when we can and picking up the good one when we can't) but it works well for normal albums tracks in playlist.

I think you can try flac for two days if you signup using a facebook account.

the addon is now on the official repo (v0.11.0) and we have an article on the qobuz news feed (for those who read french :p)

It's great that Qobuz are positive about this. Most xbmc plugins authors have a hard time with zero support from API providers and no interest in the final product.

They really should do an english version of their site - the service rocks, but I think it's probably hard work for anyone that doesn't know a little french.

lem000, true. Qobuz had welcomed the initiative and that's really pleasant Smile

And I agree too for the english part. At least for the registration process if not for the editorial content.

1.0.0 is on the official repo (public playlists, kind of fix for compilations scans and covers in library)

I have been using this add-on a lot on various Macs and Windows systems and I love it.

I've just run into one problem on my ATV1 running Crystalbuntu from STMLabs. I am forced to stick with Eden until this distro is updated to version 2.

Qobuz ran for a long time on this; but now is marked as broken and "dependencies not met"

Any idea what those dependencies could be, so I can try to fix it?

Thanks in advance.
