problem solved--Compatibility Mode to XP in Properties. Works perfect. Thank you Artafael.

Yep, compatibility mode was just a stop-gap measure until AMD put out an updated driver that fixed the problem (as pointed out by uNI above and at the end of the thread I posted above).

Yes, still on 12.11 Beta 8, might be the reason why.
