No channels imported into XBMC
#1
Hi,

I've done a new installation of Windows 7 and installed MediaPortal and XBMC. I'm wanting to have the MediaPortal server running on the same computer as XBMC but also allow other devices around the house to connect.

I have setup MediaPortal as 'dedicated TV server' and have then installed the XBMC plugin for MediaPortal and the MediaPortal client front end for XBMC. However, although all channels have now been setup I'm not seeing any in XBMC - it must be finding the MediaPortal database (I don't get any errors about not finding the database) but not finding any channels.

Any thoughts? Happy to post logs if helpful - I'm a little stumped!

In the MediaPortal TV Server Setup, make sure your channels are in the 'All Channels' group. It does not add them there by default. Without channels in the All Channels group nothing will show up in XBMC.

@Woggle: did wileecoyote's hint help you or do you still have a problem?

Hi,

Sorry, my first post, so apologies if this answer is somewhere I haven't yet found.

i have a similar problem. I have setup MediaPortal and it's front end has found all of the TV channels no problem, however when I run XBMC with the MediaPortal addon it doesn't show any channels (or EPG information either). It doesn't give me any errors, so I'm at a loss.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently having the same problem where the channels are not being imported into xbmc. The channels work fine in the media portal client and have epg data but do not show up in xbmc. The only thing that has shown up are previously recorded TV Shows. Channels, Radio Channels, Timers & the EPG are all non-existence in XBMC and I am not sure what is wrong.

Thank you very much!

That did the trick for my system, too.
