when i play an .avi file on my xbmc, the audio is badly out of sync, when i go to my computer to play the same file, the audio is in sync. this is not happening with all .avi files, just some. any idea's or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

try enable "no cache" in xbmc's osd (on-screen display) while playing the video, ...if that works then the file is wronly interleaved (do a search for "virtualdub" and "interleaved" to find the fix)
