ATV2 Airplay: Native or XBMC
#1
I've been running XBMC on my ATV2 for quite a while and have been very happy with the results. I'm still on Eden but plan on making the upgrade soon. My question is with the improved Airplay features of Frodo should I consider turning off the ATV2's native airplay and using XBMC? As additional context, I really don't use any other features of the ATV2 (i.e. netflix etc...) its pretty much always running XBMC. My basic question is there an advantage to one config or the other?

DRM content is not supported via XBMC AirPlay.
Otherwise it's pretty much the same as far as I have noticed.

Some apps seem to like native airplay better. Anything that seems to automatically switch streams based on quality/speed seem to default to low quality on XBMC AirPlay. Actual video files should work fine, though. Most apps too.
