libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds
(2013-01-29, 01:41)Alchete Wrote: Nexus 7 / Android 4.2.1 / Tegra 3

The 1/27 hw build shows massive stuttering on the 1080P/40Mbps Birds video. This same video played fine (albeit with some network buffering) on the 1/18 build.

I tried to download the xbmc.log file using ADB, but all three of the paths listed in the wiki ( http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=XBM...Q#Userdata ) gave a "file not found" error.

I'm aware there are alternative plugins to download the log file, but I want to use ADB to scrub network passwords before posting.

Has anyone gotten ADB to download the xbmc.log file on a Nexus 7?

It's definitely in 'data/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/cache/temp' as it's in that location on my setup which is exactly the same as yours by the looks of it.
Just tried the 0127 build and there was massive massive shuttering! Here's the log:

http://pastebin.com/XReJYjLN

I was only playing the SD file with AAC codec.
FactoryCodec - Video: ff-h264 - Opened <- there is your answer no Hardware Decoding
though it's hard to see from your log which file exactly though many of the smb streamed videos seem to actually never arrive @ the decoder Samsung ? @ all
Teclast A10 / Android 4.1.1 / RK2918 chipset

latest version
mkv and mp4 unplayable (screen shatter and freeze)
rmvb playable but shuttering

all files is playing fine with MX player with hw decoding

Is it some kind of test to see if I actually read the logs? Wink
There are no file played in the log you attached...

CX-01 / Android 4.0.4 / Telechips 8925 chipset
XBMC (12.0-RC3 Git:20130121-3fa9c61)
Videos are choppy & slow(7-8 fps):

On my Minix NEO G4 I can watch HD (720+) videos with hardware acceleration on, but not SD (less than 720). Most SD videos have the diagonal streaks someone suggested indicates a bad width. Once I start one of these videos it will eventually (1-2 minutes) freeze and lock the box up, requiring me to pull the plug or, if I stop the video, the box will reset on its own.

If I turn acceleration off, then SD videos play fine, but HD videos are crappy (as expected, since that's the way stock XBMC runs)

Problems start around line 1711 when I loaded "Doctor Who (2005) - 07x05 - The Angels Take Manhattan.mp4"

Also... is there a way to move the XBMC log path? As I stated in another post, mine logs to "/data/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/cache/temp/xbmc.log" which requires root to access and I have yet to figure out how to get ADB access to the device (someone on the Minix Facebook page said that the device doesn't even support ADB...)

Weird... Every time I opened mkv and mp4 files it play audio for few seconds then XBMC stop responding. I need to press HOME key back to android HOME to end XBMC app.

I give it another try, here is what I got this time:
Teclast A10 / Android 4.1.1 / RK2918 chipset

latest version
mkv and mp4 unplayable (screen all black, play audio for few seconds and then freeze)
rmvb playable but shuttering

all files is playing fine with MX player with hw decoding

While the Jan 21 version ran flawlessly on my Galaxy Tab 7+, the version posted on Jan 27 broke this. All movies are now choppy and basically unwatchable. The curious part is that the debug logs (from my untrained eye) appear identical in the renderer area and both APPEAR to be calling and getting libstagefright.

I've pasted the log for the Jan 21 version HERE
and the Jan 27 version HERE

Cheers!

I have yet to get any mp4 file working, so im not sure if its related to width or the fact that maybe the hardware decoding just isnt working properly for mp4 files yet, but i cannot get get of my scene release tv shows in mp4 format to play without diagonal streaks

Interesting... I get the same behavior out of a low-def MKV, though. Low def .avi's are fine. Huh
MK808 running android.

Installed - http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/andr...bi-v7a.apk

Device Specs

1.2Ghz Rockchip RK3066 Dual Core CPU, Quad core Mali-400 GPU
1GB Ram
OpenGL ver OPENGL ES 2.0

Playing a 720p file... it plays very very well. better then standard xbmc which jutters and struggles. HOWEVER, there is this horrible pixelization (spelling?) which runs across the top and bleeds into the picture.

Log - http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=31751

Also tested with the 1080p birds file from the test list http://www.auby.no/files/video_tests/h26..._birds.mkv
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=31752

which just thinks about it for a while. Then crashes to the android desktop.

Both work flawlessly in the standard video player (not xbmc).

No idea if ive done the logs right so please let me know if i need to do them again.

edit - my firmware is finless bobs 1.6 custom firmware

@adamandkate

What is your exact Firmware ?

you have the exact same issues like me on my tablet the first time my and anothers RK 3066 user result experience matches Smile

do you have a sample file of that pixelization happening @ 720p ? i never saw issues on 720p yet only 1080p gives me a lot of trouble including this line on the top you mentioned and someone else said 1080p works fine but that user uses a very different firmware and kernel (selfmade compile)

See my previous posts and results if you can try the same files and have the same issues it would be very cool if you post that and the exact firmware you are using Smile

PS: The padding issue of videoplayback.flv is also apparent on MX Players HW+ Decoder i guess it's nothing else then a GPU Renderer comparable to Koyings Wink

So the most flawless working is currently MX Player their Software Renderer thus while ill really would like to see if someone could compile a Swrender build with Koyings latest Generic Playback fixes around Libstagefright.
Working like a charm on HP Touchpad Runing Android CM10. Tried two 1080p mkv files Monsters and Birds , then some 1080p streams from navix addon as well as livestreams addon. I can say that xbmc is now at 100% full hw support on my Hp touchpad CM10.
Thanks for the hard work
Btw any progress on the rockchip yet.. Thx
