Quick status:
I'm waiting for an ODROID U2 (should come in 3-4 weeks). Once it is confirmed this one works ok (Exynos4), I suppose we could say the test is conclusive.
I'll then put the patch in shape and submit it to the scrutiny of the Team for inclusion in master.

Mine arrives tomorrow so I'll give it a test and drop some logs if you like.

I have one and 1080 hw decoding is working as bad as on my Note 2.

Doing some tests with with 2013.02.19 build - with libstagefright that herman chen posted on my rk3066 device after full firmware reset.

Stability increased greatly where some 1080p files crashed the device completly before.

It seems that software fallback is too strict a bit.

As 2 samples that were perfectly fine before (before libstagefright update) now, have heavy framedrops - those samples are reported as dc:ff-h264, where everything fluid is reported as stf-h264 - so as i understand libstagefright is not being used for decoding those - and yes the files are not mod16 - but like i stated they never crashed vpu.

Otherwise great job and thank you for everything koying, it looks like its pretty close to be working very well.

I have also notified some rom makes about updated libstagrefright so i hope we may see some adoption before rockchip rolls out updated roms.

Hi Guys,
I have tested this build with DroidTV X1 set top box device(RK3066 Dual Core CPU with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Quad Core Mali400)

I can confirm that 720 videos works perfect!
Both from SD card and SMB share.

But 1080p is very choppy, although it looks better when I run it from SD or even better from internal flash.

19/02/2013 build works perfectly on my ODROID-U2 with todays Cyanogenmod Nighly with 1080p H.264 DTS 5.1 MKV. I will swich all my playback from Raspberry Pi to the ODROID now and will report problems should there be any.

I am using ODROID-U2 without fan only with the standard heat sink at 1800 Mhz max with ONDEMAND CPU govenour. It gets only slightly warm - so playback works without problem for hours now.

anything important that changed in the RK3 v 2.0 sdk for libstagefright ?

did you integrate the patch in the next release (it doesn't seem to made it into the 2.0 SDK yet)

btw the newer libstagefrights are more stable they don't crash the Kernel so fast only the old ones in the 15xx range did

v 1650/1739 shows artifcating but doesn't crashed once yet

you do great work despite the fact that it reaches most user in the RK Ecosystem to late or never @ all

even the yoon yoon sample works now, (of course its a slideshow due to the render path, and 60 fps seems a little to heavy for the RK3066 VPU overall (i get on the fast path around 28-30 fps), probably RK3188 will have no issues with this test sample especialy on the fast direct framebuffer path)

though the birds sample is still not loading right
