Hello,
First of all apologize for my English, it is not my native language.
(thanks Google translate)
I googled a lot but could not find an explanation about the difference between the standalone version and the normal version from XBMC.
The computer where I want to install XBMC is mainly used as mediacenter, but sometimes also for browsing the internet.
Is the standalone-version less sources-consuming?
Or is the standalone-version the better choice if your computer is only used as mediacenter?
Do I need the normal version for having acces to all features?
The normal version is 'arch-independent'. Has it to do with Linux Arch? So, if you dont have Arch-Linux you have to use that version?
Only found an explanation for 'transitional package' which is necessary if the next release has another name. So you should say: always use that one.
I' m confused.
Can someone make it more clear?
If you need more information, please let me know.
Thanks in advance
Quentin
