Just to ensure it is driver related or hardware issue!

Anyone running an Asrock ION 330 with Gigabit lan and can set at 100mbit? if i force with ethtool at 1000 full duplex the system loses network connectivity and putty loses connection!

I was sure it worked before? maybe under windows?

Are you turning autonegotiation off prior to setting speed and duplex?

crappy cat5e cable run i think... grrrr so frustrating and so bloody simple!

stipulated 350mhz on the cabling ended up being 100mhz... so all my frustration due to some lazy bugger with the wrong ticket gun!
