XBMC 12 Fails on startup
#1
I installed XBMC 12 Frodo on Pinguy 12.04,2 days ago. The program was working well,but now it fails on startup. Does not hang up the machine, it just starts to come up, and then exits.
It does this on both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of the OS.

The URL for crashlog is: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=31895
Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the XBMC forums.

You'll need to enable debug log (wiki)ging so additional diagnostic information is captured for your XBMC session. Since you can't get to the GUI to enable this setting, you'll need to create an advancedsettings.xml (wiki) file in your userdata (wiki) directory with the following contents:
Code:
<advancedsettings>
  <loglevel>1</loglevel>
</advancedsettings>
Save the file and restart XBMC. When it crashes, locate your debug log (wiki) (xbmc.log) and upload its contents to www.xbmclogs.com and post the assigned URL for your uploaded log here with your reply. This will allow others here to see if your log reveals any clues as to why XBMC is crashing.

Your link just points to the file path of your log file on your computer, which none of us can access. Smile

What you need to do is to open that log file with a text editor and copy its entire contents and then paste all that into the paste window on www.xmbclogs.com and give us the URL for your new uploaded log. Thanks.
