DVBViewer "Recordings Port"
#1
Hi All,

Im new here but been using XBMC for a long time.

I have a Synology DS413 and trying to setup the PVR on XBMC. im using the DVBViewer Client. In the DVBViewer Client setting page there is a line to put in the "Recordings Port" Default is 8090. I dont know what to put here. I know the default is wrong

However in DVBLink Configuration Settings page on the NAS there is no mention of this anywhere.

Base port number: 39876
Streaming port: 8100
Log level: Errors and warnings
Service priority: High
Default DVB codepage: ISO 8859-1 ( I have no idea what this is)

Now when I enable the Live TV in XBMC I get the error "DVBViewer Client Cant Connect to the Recording Service"

Seems that this person has also the problem. http://forum.dvblogic.com/viewtopic.php?...9bf9921c90

Can someone help thanks. This is driving me nuts.

Cheers

Hi Spada,

The standard "DVBviewer client" add-on is not related to DVBlink (the name might be misleading).
To use the DVBlink backend you have to install the "PVR DVBlink client" add-on. This add-on will also show the DVBlogic logo.

You can find the DVBlink add-on here: http://forum.dvblogic.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=19703

The DVBlink PVR client add-on doesn't support timeshifting yet, but channel switching is faster than the MP backend :-)

Hope this helps.

Hey Bolder,

Thanks for that. You saved some of my hair. Yeah the name is so misleading. Installed and all working so far. Its a shame that the new Synology DS413 used a Freescale CPU and does not have plex for it.

Cheers

I have DVBLink running on my Synology NAS, and would like to tryout XBMC as a client. However, I tripped over the same issue as Bolder, but the link provided by Spada doesn't work either. I found a Github repository, but looks like it was closed a year ago.

The link on the DVBLink Wiki offers to downloadsa file called script.dvblink.client.zip, but I cannot extract the files (message "cannot open output file" in 7zip)

Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Ah found what I was looking for on the DVBLink Wiki:

http://dvblogic.com/wiki/index.php/DVBLi...t_for_XBMC

There's a direct download link for the client, which you then install from the zip file in XBMC. Have it working - now to figure out if it can possibly replace WMC...
