Linux xmbcbuntu - No sound for some avi files
#1
Hi all,

I installed xmbcbuntu for the first time a few days ago and I must say I am quite impressed by all the good work that was done!

Everything works fine so far, I can play mp3 and watch movies, I installed a spotify add-on that works fine too.

There is one thing that I discovered yesterday night though : some of my avi files won't work correctly.
What I mean is that the sound is deactivated in those cases.

From what I can see, the movies that have this problem are large, recent files.
They play correctly on my computer.

My setup is :
xmbcbuntu on a laptop, with an hdmi connection to my tv.
My 2.1 is connected to my TV directly, so the sound comes from here

this setup works fine for my music and most of my movies.

When I try to change the volume of the movies without sound on xmbcbuntu, I get a
"audio throughput in use" message popping up.

I tried to change the settings, but I only have one audio throughput device and I cannot change it.
My TV is a Samsung UE40EH5000.

I have seen some other posts on the internet about this issue, but no proper solution so far.

Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
