Android BobDroid - Control boblight from Android (Now on Play)
#16
in boblight-constant and so on I can set a value by typing -o value=20, this value is the brightness of the leds.

maybe this is something for you: http://jscolor.com/

Not a color wheel, but you can pick colors (which preview), too.

I have to look at that, the problem is, there is no API, so I have to look at the boblightcode to see what I can do.

Found colour wheel code I would use to make the app, you beat me to it ;-)

http://code.google.com/p/colour-wheel/

It is not that hard to understand.

Oh, thats what you meant...
A color picker wheel.

I thought you meant a color wheel for LEDs like a "spinning" animation or something.

Should be no problem when I find some time.

What about this color wheel:

https://github.com/LarsWerkman/HoloColorPicker

I looked at a lot of them and this seems to be the best one.

Holo themed and easy to implement.

Very nice app.

But as soon as it connects to boblight, the app is crashing on the phone.
I can see the incoming connection on the system where boblight is running and then booooom force close.

Any ideas?
Device is a HTC Desire with Android 4.1.

Is there a log file in your Sd card root? I have no problems on 4.2 so it's probably a compatibility issue with 4.1.

Fixed, I checked for Android version but forgot that JellyBean is 4.1 and 4.2.

Should work on everything now.

Still the same link.

It's working now for me.

Except that the LEDs are stuck from time to time, but I blame the raspberry here.

Thanks!

Sometimes the leds are stuck when the connection "breaks" but boblight somehow still thinks the client is connected.

If something is stuck just lower the Priority in settings and it should work again until you disconnect then you are back at the stuck color.

If you set the priority higher than XBMC which is 128 I think you can set a color and when you start a movie the XBMC addon works like normal.

OK here you go then Tongue

Lights ON/OFF is a bit confusing imo as for me it switches between the configured backlight in addon setting to the Bobdroid control.
A bigger control circle would be nice as it seems a bit tiny at least on my Nexus7

Switching between Mood light and constant turn the switch off. Personally i would expect it to stay on.
An exit button perhaps? I found out that if you switch light off and unfocus the app it exits bit it's not that clear.
Any way of controlling the boblight settings during playback? This saves some time going back and forth to the addon settings to tweak the settings to get them right.
Other than that nice app Smile
