High Bitrate MPEG-2 on the Pi?
#1
Hi,
I'm going to buy a Raspberry Pi and I would use it as a little htpc, obviously with XBMC (probably on OpenElec).
I would like to play SD recordings from my PVR (Strong STR-8105), but the problem is they are coded with very high bitrates (up to 15Mbps, depending by the channel).
I don't think the MPEG 2 codec is a problem (I'll buy it), but the bitrate maybe yes...for example, my LG tv can play smoothly 1080p MKV and others MPEG-2 files, but can't run PVR recordings.
Any suggestions? Will it run my recordings?

Thanks for the help and sorry if my English isn't perfect Wink

not sure about MPEG2 but I can easy stream files in other formats with bitrate like +30Mb/s so you should be OK

Probably i will defer the purchase of some month...and maybe, I'll buy a real htpc x86-based.
