I restored the True Image again on to second PC, I then proceeded to change the static IP and hostname and the name of it in XBMC. I also removed lcdproc as the second PC has no LCD display unlike the first PC, I changed the rc_keymap to get the remote working properly etc. At this point the second PC is all setup and running with XBMC and just like the first PC downstairs.
I then backed up the second PC in this state, so I can restore more quickly next time without having to reconfigure the above types of settings each time.
Anyways I then ran the commands again to uninstall alsa and reinstall:
Code:
xbmc@xbmc02:~$ sudo apt-get remove --purge alsa-utils libasound2 -y
[sudo] password for xbmc:

I then rebooted at this point, XBMC then does not load and I just get a command prompt, if I login and type XBMC it again says XBMC is not installed, so somehow that command I ran is taking off XBMC.
I then ran the command to install alsa
Code:
xbmc@xbmc02:~$ sudo apt-get install alsa-utils libasound2 -y

After another reboot still no XBMC, so I installed XBMC again and rebooted again. This time it did not say there was no graphics installed.
XBMC then opened OK and is 12.0 version. I double checked that the audio output device and other audio settings were still correct, which there were. And I turned up the master vol in alsamixer!
When playing an album I still have the same problem however no sound.
I think I will go get my dad's 37" Samsung TV and try it on that one as a test.
As I said yesterday the cloned XBMC PC works on two other TV's OK no problems just not this 37" Samsung, which makes me think that the cloning process is not the issue ?
Thanks
