OS X Better deinterlacing for PVR
#1
Question
I have mac mini 2011 with a AMD Radeon 6630M graphic card with OSX mountain Lion.
I use the VU+ pvr backend.

I cannot get a decent deinterlacing only bob method come close but still the screen is not stable.
When I open the video statistics I see frame drops.
In SD the stream is sometimes buffering when deinterlacing is activated but in HD it works okay.

Are there plans to improve deinterlacing support in XBMC for pvr Huh

Deinterlacing capabilities highly depend on the hardware and graphics driver provided for the OS. Windows has good drivers for any hw, on Linux NVdia provides very good deinterlacing (AMD and Intel just basic). Not sure about OSX.

I solved the issue with deinterlacing. I installed Windows 7 on my mac mini and in Windows the deinterlacing is working okay.
