Yes u can I use it all the time...
Put this in a strm file follow directions on how to scrape into xbmc

How do you have Ember scrape for runtimes with strm files? I can't figure out how to pull any metadata for streams. Do runtimes need to be added manually?

I'm not figuring out how to get Ember to scrape the duration of TV shows. It doesn't pull metadata from the file of .strm so runtime doesn't end up in the nfo. Am I missing a setting?

I realized I had an old version of Ember. Now I see use duration for runtime in the TV scraper options but it doesn't matter if I have that checked or unchecked, I still am not seeing runtime in the nfos. Any ideas?

i make my own nfo files and use the scraper that lunatixz suggested i posted some of my nfo and strm in this thread if u need help figureing out what to put in them im also working on a list of about 280 channels with nfo and strms i plan on posting here just to help ppl out should be ready in a few days

now my question does anyone know how to turn this into somthing xbmc will play?

I personally haven't found a stable enough source for strms... ATM all sources have to be manually added and kept up to date... I would like to automate this process.
I'm currently playing around with livestream sources... I already added support for an external "xml" to populate channels much like tvtime did back in the day... the list of sources @ livestreams is kept up to date enough to maybe include...another idea i've been playing with is adding youtube support (add a subscribed user or maybe users favorites) what do you think? In your experience have you found sources that stay active without the need to update?

As for your link, haven't had a chance to try it out... but I do see a lot of url encoding in the shortcut, which probably needs to be replaced...

i think youtube playlist would be great we could search youtube and make playlist then have them as channels. i have some playlist maid in youtube like a bigfoot one and cryptozoology,rap vids,ghost vids ect, but i havnt been ably to get a playlist to work in ptv. i can get single videos to tho and as far as strms i pretty much just use plugins on xbmc to find strms i was searching the net but it takes longer its more work and they seem to not be as stable. the justintv plugin method is working great i thought it wasnt but turns out the channels went offline u just have to find the right channels on justintv i use it alot so i know wich ones have been up for months straight. ill post my favourite xml it has almost all the strms ive been working on i try to use a direct strm over plugins but i cant figure out some of the direct one or they just dont work

I like the structure of your favorites.xml... did you edit it, or was the links added this way when you added them to favorites? I'm going to add an option to build channels off the favorites.xml

i went threw all my plugins and added stuff then went to favs and started organizing ive organized it alot better since i posted it if u want ill post it again when im 100% done and if u make a option to add of favs ill gladly donate u 20$ for the build that would be awsome i wish i knew more so i could make a fork with more options but thats beyond my skill set atm lol i am very good at finding stuff tho so i can help u that way for some reason stuff from the mashup plugin doesnt work when i make it a fav that is what im stuck on atm

Can't promise adding favorites.. My concern is weeding out links u want vs other favorites in the list... Plus I'm noticing links aren't added as clean as your list looks...
