[i.MX6] XBMC running on Freescale SoC's
Thanks for your fast answer !

OK you use the geexbox image : Yes I often sync with thomas and rudi and we are in line here...
I would be interested in any stream that exhibits issues you refer to (for instance the jerky m2v)

@Wofgar: I can confirm that square in the middle too, In fact it is also showing up on HD interlaced video, but there is it really tiny so you can barely overseen it. (And I don't thing it is distubing) I guess this looks like driver issue in particulary that is located exactly in the middle. This is same also for the merge request from smallint (20dd7941a3), I don't see any differences on behaviour to your commit, and it looks to be stable too.

I am also facing on booth versions problems with audion sync on live TV HD and on YouTube videos. On SDTV I do see the funny speedup on start baut then it runs in sync. (I'm using TVHeadend) It looks like, if you have any kind of overlay (like showing it windowed with program list or another gui action happens, it delays the video but audio contiunes, resulting in speed up on SD/mpg2 to catch the sync but on HD it stays delayed. (Some YouTube Videos are sync and some not, maybee different video codecs)

Anyway from me +1 :-)

Hi mijanek,

Yes the merge I pushed yesterday from smallint will not improve the final behavior : It is mainly about design and nicer code...

Regarding audio sync issues, yes opening the GUI may delay the rendering and then the video recovers with the speed up effect you describe.
It should also recover on HD stream, could you post an instance of youtube video which remains out of sync please ? Have you configured large network buffering in your XBMC advancedsettings file ?

Best regards

Hi Stephan,

thanks for your explanation. I didn't changed nothing in the advancedsettings.xml now, so it's on default, I guess something about 5 sec on TVHeadend..?
I was trying to record it using my notebook, but I don't have any external micro and the buid in one need very high loudness, so it's not possible now due to my sleeping daughter, but I will try tomorow..

Hi Miro

In fact I don't really need that you record your own experience but only that you share a youtube video link that behaves that way so that I can give it a try on my own to reproduce and try to solve the issue...

Hi Stephan,
yes, I did understood, but If it will be enought to see only the video (without any sound) so I can do it right now, otherwise I have to wait for tomorow so I can turn the speaker of the tv on maximum (unfortunatelly my notebook doesn't have any line-in audio).

Thanks
Miro

OK, I make some improvisation using my headset. You will have to turn your speaker little louder..

Video starts out of sync. (delayed), changing the audio track doens't affect this but switching the channels does help. After some time I saw it sychronized, but it desychronizes again later than...

Hi Miro,

Thanks for your vid (In fact there was a little misunderstanding : As you said that sometimes you had this sync issue with some youtube vids, I only asked for such vids address to experiment with them on my side and try to debug the issue)

Anyway I was at least able to see clearly how it behaves for you.
I am a little dubious because at 1:12, I can see that it needs to buffer so I am unsure the problem is not related to your source or network

Have you tried the very latest commits from yesterday ?
(I cannot guaranty but it may help as it increases the number of decoded pictures ready to be displayed...)

Hi Stephan,

OK, I'll try to findout some YouTub videos too. The buffering at 1:12 was caused due the channel change to (same programm) SD and afterwards back to HD. The TVHeadend has per default large buffers. Anyway I will try to test it with VDR to, as xvdr is much better (I just like the backend of tvhe more than vdr)

The commit from yesterday I didn't tried yet. I'll do it today in the evening,

Thanks Miro

I've setup a build system and compiling right now! Smile If the build process will be successful, I can upload the finale image somewhere and ppl can start testing.

Just ordered 2x Cubox-i4pro yesterday, but I guess they will be arrive approximately 2 months later. Sad

Please remember that this thread is about XBMC dev for imx6.
Notifying new devices and new distro is very welcome but I would like to avoid to have many messages about openelec availability or issues here...
I have absolutely nothing against openelec which seems to be a very good distro and I am pretty happy they decided to package a version for the cubox-i (which is also a nice device)
But please follow botribun link to continue to speak about openelec itself.

On the other hand, any feedback on imx6 xbmc is still highly welcome here of course...

Hi

People who are very interested in daily updates and liveTV can check commits from yesterday and today here : https://github.com/wolfgar/utilite/commits/devel
They allow to suppress the flickering spot in the middle of the screen when deinterlacing
