Playback Problem
#1
Hi, I'm having a playback problem whereby it doesn't really seem to load much of the stream.

Normally if watching a video on a streaming site you just press play and then hit pause and you go away for 30 mins and when you come back the movie has the full grey line which means the entire stream is stored in your cache (I think), but my experience with XBMC is this doesn't happen; I hit play and then pause on the stream and come back 20 mins later and its only loaded up about 3 mins into cache and this is only an SD stream.

Does anyone know if there's anything I can do to help this?

I am on a mac running XBMC Eden.

Thanks

I should add that I'm streaming over wifi and my download speed is 6 mbs/ sec.

Increase the size of the cache. See advancedsettings.xml (wiki).

Hi Ned, yes I saw a post on that on a guy's website - I went into my user data folder and there was no advancedsettings.xml file so I created one and pasted in the necessary command line (or whatever you call it) and made the cache size 50 mb -

<network>
<cachemembuffersize>52428800</cachemembuffersize>
</network>

Is this the right way to do it?

Cheers.
