I am curious if anybody has the same issue as I have been having lately. I am running XBMCbuntu v12.0 frodo. Whenever I play an .avi or .mp4 file, they will play for a certain period of time then stop completely. Some files play for only 15mins while other will play for the majority of the movie then suddenly stop.

I have thought about converting these files to .mkv files since none of those type of extentions give me issues.

What are your thoughts and if someone has answer please let me know. It's been really frustrating....

It may be nothing to do with the container and more to do with the video or audio codec, in which case converting to mkv will not help.

How about a debug log?
