Linux Userdata folder
#1
Hi there!

Before formatting my previous Windows-based setup I've backed up mu "userdata" folder in order to transfer my configs into the new XBMCbuntu install.

The problem is that I can not find the "userdata" folder in XBMCbuntu to replace it. Where the hell is that? I've tried to get to $HOME/.xbmc/userdata/ in the file manager, but it doesn't find it.

Please keep in mind that I'm a linux newbie.

Thank you very much for your attention.

thats the correct folder, but its hidden by default in GUI file managers. So either input the path manually or configure the file manager to show all/hidden files.

if you are on a command line and logged in as the user xbmc runs under you can go there like this:
Code:
cd ~/.xbmc/userdata

That was so stupidly easy! Thank you guys!

Turns out all I needed to do was to restart the system in order to see the hidden files. Now that's all good!
