Does anyone know if VidOn have released the source code for this XBMC port for Allwinner A1x/A2x SoCs with CedarX support yet?

Links to source code package download for each version or source code tree git/svn/cvs repository?

https://github.com/vidonme/xbmc

VidOn.Me looks to have a GitHub account but have not updated that for almost a year now.

Wondering if that code will make it as an upstream patch to xbmc.org's XBMC mainline for next major version after Gotham?

As I understand it, yes the Vidon.Me firmware image with the whole Android OS can only be flashed onto their own hardware boxes

but if you extract only the APK XBMC application package then that should install and run on all Allwinner A1x/A2x based hardware

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APK_%28file_format%29

This means that you can install the XBMC.APK from VidOn.Me on any Allwinner A1x/A2x Android 4.x box and get CedarX support

But has anyone actually gotten it to run on an A20 board?

Yes, it looks like the repo has been created just to keep up appearances, while Vidon still continues to violate GPL terms. And the company being a "Diamond Sponsor", XBMC developers doesn't seem to object such blatant violation.
Or have I missed something and XBMC has multiple licenses now, including commercial ones?

The number one rule for any sponsor is that they remain GPL compliant. As of early January, when last we checked in with vidon.me about their code, the impression was that they had remained compliant. I'll be happy to check in again.

Last I checked, there was indeed a complete cedarx implementation in their repo.
If no a10/a20 owner has taken the task to make a XBMC PR out of it is hardly their fault ;-)

Yes, but how can you explain the fact that the the latest version of VidOn XBMC has been released on Feb 21, 2014 while the latest commit in the abovementioned repo was a year ago? Or that is a wrong repo? In this case there is no mentioning of any "source codes" on VidOn web-site or forum.
So the question is: if VidOn is indeed GPL-complaint, where are the sources that reflect actual state of development?

Have you emailed them and asked them for a copy of the source recently? Their github repo was current until their latest release, it could simply be they haven't pushed their updates to their public repo yet (iirc they were slow in the past - took them a couple of weeks).

Keep in mind they don't need to provide a public repo, all that is required is that they provide the sources to someone who has access to the binary, if and when they request it. They have been happy to provide sources in the past by email.

Given the release is less than a week old, it could be they simply haven't don't it yet.

I asked them for the sources. First time via official email/form -> no answer. Second time via PM to the admin in the forum -> answer: github.com/vidonme are the official and recent sources
On Jan 13th i told him, that this repo is very old - due to the fact that there are new updates of their software, that include xbmc changes - if you can believe the change logs.
I stopped nagging him.

Since they don't publish their contact e-mail, but only a feedback form on their site, I have submitted a request for access to sources via that form. I'll inform here about their reply (or the lack of thereof).

JUSTOP is affiliated with VidOn.Me and are using their XBMC builds for its own hardware, but Justinuk say he/they can't provide source code when asked

VIdonme xbmc works great on my A20...
the only issue that my language isn't supported...
also the subtitles are shown backwards and every time i need to change the option to "show subtitles"
does anyone have a solution to how to add a languge or a font support of some sort?
thanks

Their only publicly published source code is on that GitHub account and that assumed 1.0.0.0 version is over a year old now.

Since then they released several more binary builds for public download as seen on their forums, three new versions this year alone

And if VidOn.Me XBMC builds and DVDFab Media Player are both XBMC based products from Fengtao Software Inc. then they have more to answer for

As it looks and sounds as if Fengtao based all their DVDFab media players on XBMC so GPL should still apply?

Please try it if you want a simple, fast and always working solution for Blu-ray playback.

DVDFab Media Player is based on a great open source project XBMC, please visit XMBC at http://xbmc.org.

Best Regards,
Fengtao

There is no direct relationship between JUSTOP and VidOn.me, so they cannot provide you the source code. And we're preparing the latest source code, and will upload it to Github asap.
