Hi Margro,

would be cool if you could provide this soon.

Many Thanks

Did you already try the plugin for 1.3? It will probably just work unless the TVServer API changed.
I've no plans to install this pre-release just to rebuild the tvserverxbmc plugin. I want to keep my 1.2 and 1.3 installations up and running for development purposes.

Hi there,

Can anyone confirm whether the latest TV Server Plugin does indeed work with 1.4?

I had to wipe my Raspberry Pi recently (having not used is since I upgraded Mediaportal to 1.4) and I cannot connect to Mediaportal Server.

I cannot now tell whether the plugin is the problem or not.

Thanks

Well, i just downloaded the latest Media portal today (Looks like it's full 1.4 as of the 18th) as i'm switching computers around and it looks like the server plugin does not work with it.

I get a pop-up "dependency error" saying: "requires MediaPortal version 1.3.0 to 1.3.999."

when I hit the button to view the addition detials, here is what I see.

"Name" | "type" | "Min" | "Max"
TvServer | Installer | 1.2.200.0 | 1.3.999.0
MediaPortal | MediaPortal | 1.1.6.27644 | 1.1.6.27644

I'm running windows XP SP3 if you needed the OS i'm running.

If you need any additional detail, just ask and I'll try to give them to the best of my ability.

Here is a copy of the 1.3.0.121 plugin compiled with MediaPortal 1.4 dll's. I have NOT tested this version, only compiled it against the latest dll's.

FYI, Anyone can download Margro's MediaPortal plugin code and compile it against the 1.4 dll's. He has made his code available on his plugin download page here -> http://www.scintilla.utwente.nl/~marcelg...rxbmc.html

@margro, If I have violated any policies by providing a compiled version here, please let me know and I will take it down immediately.

FYI: I've uploaded a 1.4.0 compatible version to my website.

The plugin itself was already compatible, only the MPEI installer prevented the installation on 1.4.0.

@wileecoyote: No problem. That's the idea behind open source. Others can adapt, extend and build it without relying on my spare time Wink

Good to know your okay with it. The only reason I asked is some folks on the MediaPortal forums would get pissed if people posted binaries of their addon/plugins...

Thanks again for all your hard work. We appreciate it!

Many thanks for this.

Just out of interest, how difficult was it to re-compile the code as mentioned above?

Do you need major coding experience to do this?

So, since I am not a MP User, is it worth to update TVServer to 1.4?
Is the updated plugin working fine?

After updating the plugin I can't order the channels by name in XBMC
No matter how I'm ordering them in the server the new plugin doesn't respect the order from the server ( order by name in the server)

Going back to v1.3.0.121 has solve the problem. This problem has been introduced in v1.3.0.122

I had issues with the 1.4 specific plugin and the EPG. So I went back to v1.3.0.121. The 1.4 specific new version freezes and then crashes xbmc as soon as you try to goto the EPG. Was doing this with windows versions of XBMC. If some debug or something is needed I can try to get that....this 1.3 version works fine for me for now though.

XBMC does not directly support the ordering from the TVServer because the PVR interface does not have a separate order field. XBMC can only sort on backend channel numbers and on "the order in which the addon send the total channel list to xbmc". Other ways of sorting channels and different ordering in different groups is not yet possible at the XBMC side.

However I did change the channel retrieval code to support importing channels from more than one group and that may have caused a different order in which the addon send the total channel list to xbmc.
I will check that...

Strange... The 1.4 version is just a recompiled 1.3 version without any code changes to EPG related code.
Could you enable XBMC debug logging and post a debug xbmc.log file on xbmclogs.com and the link here?

Hello,
I´m using (since yesterday) MP 1.4 on sepertate machines (client/server).
Now I want to install a Raspberry Pi Client for my kitchen.
The installation was easy but the connection to the MP-server doesn´t work.

On the XBMC-client I get the message "Mediaportal PVR Client Verbindung unterbrochen" (it is a german version Angel)
The connection to videos or pictures works fine.

Whre is the mistake in my configuration, can somebody help me?

Did you also install the TVServerXBMC plugin at the Mediaportal TVServer side?
Check also your firewall.

Yes, on Client side both entries are green, and the port 9596 is ok in the FW.
