Hi fritsch,

OK, I have nuked my NUC in order to do some testing with your builds. I followed your instructions in #1, but XBMC does not start up (no xbmc.log either).

I was suspecting the plymouth package to create the trouble and changed the grub_mcdline_linux_default to "noplymouth" (followed by sudo update-grub), but to no avail.

Any advice appreciated...
