Wait. I think there is a basic misunderstanding of what "remove black bars" does.

It removes black bars as long as the aspect ratio is not touched at all and you don't loose any information. That means, if you have black bars only on top and bottom, but a 1080p with image, it won't do anything. But now, do the following:
Enable: Remove Black bars
Use Mode: Zoom

There will appear a new slider: Zoom Amount.

Btw. you are aware that you loos a whole lot of pixels on the right and left?
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
