Linux VAAPI: Nuc, Chromebox, HSW, IVB, Baytrail with Ubuntu 14.04
I guess so... I like the look of my movies using software decoding better than when using the hardware acceleration but I have at least one movie that can't "keep up" with software decoding.

I am trying to re-encode that movie to a lower bit rate ... since I have many other movies that look fantastic and also playback without issue.

I guess the memory thing is just pointless.... I bought the ram when I used a mac mini as a music server and it wasn't likely used then either ... oh well. Smile

Edit = I think If I convert everything to H264 that will solve all the problems I'm having. (Since I have problems with Mpeg2 and VC1 only.)
