Linux VAAPI: Nuc, Chromebox, HSW, IVB, Baytrail with Ubuntu 14.04

So if you set the driver to full range too, the tv gets full range. having the tv set to limited results in wrong color. There is a little chance that this does not happen: very few tv sets observe info frames which convey the setting from the source to the sink.

You have the disabling of "Prefer VAAPI Render Method" in mind? That way we could get the NV12 via sse4 copy, too - but yes, that's not VAAPI for rendering then.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
