In about to go into melt down

New windows 8 build
Latest xbmc

Everything worked flawlessly on my win7 build a week ago and now movies which worked fine, lag at 4fps on my shiny new win8 build

Chucked on the latest shark007 driver pack and that didn't help
All movies run perfect in windows media player.

For heavens sake don't add codec packs. It can't help. Sounds like an audio setup problem. Please post your log to pastebin or xbmclogs.

But it plays normally in media player with sound without a problem.

Well use media player if it makes you so happy.

If you want help then a full debug log and screenshots of your XBMC audio settings.

He did provide a debug log... in his first post.

I'm guessing this is simply an audio issue. See Windows Settings for AudioEngine (wiki).

The movie you are playing has DTS audio. You probably have it setup to send to AMP with none attached. see Neds post above,

I had this with DTS - it turned out the DirectX HDMI output had a problem so I switched to the ASAPI HDMI out and it was fine.
