Nice. Which one works better?
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

If you look more in detail at link (2) you can see that the signature file in /etc/ati/ is replaced - which will also kill the BETA signature.
OpenELEC has easy integration of e.g. vdr or tvheadend, if this would suffice your needs.

Still trying to figure out why I can't get the mini install to work. Meanwhile, last 2 nights have experienced a hard lockup after about 1 hour of watching video. Had to cold boot to clear, no evidence of errors in XBMC log file, although occurred about 3.5 minutes into watching a second video on both occasions. No other dropouts though.
Will keep trying on the mini.

About ready to give up on the mini. Will not detect my network interface at all so cannot proceed with install. Have spent about 2 entire days on this and nothing.

I've done a clean install of 12.10 desktop since I could not get the minimal install to work. I've installed Catalyst 13.6 beta, so far ok except XBMC locks up when shutdown with this version.
Will give it more of a go over tonight and report back any issues.

Played a couple of files with zero playback issues. If I try to quit / shutdown XBMC everything locks up. Minimizing the window sometimes results in a totally garballed screen with lockup.
