Multiple back ends on raspberry pi's
#1
Hi,

Having read various threads regarding raspberry pi's struggling with multiple tuners & users, I was thinking of running a multiple pi setup:
- 2x raspberry pi's, each with a single DVB-S tuner
- 1x raspberry pi for the front end
- 1x NAS drive for storage

Is it possible to set up this configuration so the 2 pi's with tuners co-operate correctly with the tuners?

Cheers

I don't think so. I'd suggest trying to get both tuners to work with a single Pi, if not you'll need to get a slightly more powerful computer for the backend task.

With only one front end you can use that with one pi for watching live tv. Then you can use the second one to record, and place the recordings in a directory readable by the front-end.

That's not what he asked for.

I know, but I'm just giving a suggestion, just like you are giving a suggestion.
