Hi

I have bought a new QNAP TS-469L NAS featuring XBMC to Play my thousands of privately recorded Camcorder videos (every video section is stored as a file ending with .m2ts)

However, the Quality of the Video is really bad. Symptoms are:
- auido stutters
- Video stutters or has artifacts when pans are shown

I first thought it could be a Hardware issue so I upgraded the RAM Memory of the NAS to 3GB, which is the Maximum. Without improvement.

I have also tried via the twonkey media Server Feature and streamed the files via my PS3 - but the Quality is even worse.

What can I do to enjoy my home Videos in full HD Quality?

Show us the output of mediainfo on one of the files, and an xbmc debug log (wiki) of playing one.

How do I get to see the mediainfo Output (files)? I have xmbc installed on my NAS and therefore can't really look into it. All I see on my NAS directory are folders, such as "multimedia", "download", etc. containing my Video files and Pictures. Sorry, am not familiar with the Software yet...

Ahh ok . What sort of nas and is such a machine really tuned for hd playback?

Mediainfo is a commandline program. Can you ssh into the nas?

Copy a small video clip from the camcorder to your PC in order to run MediaInfo (wiki).

try a deinterlacer. the video is interlaced and your display is progressive (if you dont know the terms i give them so you can use your fav search engine to educate yourself). i know the media info claims it is progressive but dont trust it..

In fact I have not solved the issue to date but am awaiting an answer from QNAP Support. They have acknowledged the issue more than a month ago but are not responding anymore.

Looks like the Hardware cannot cope with 18Mbps comprimation of my Camcorder....
