Solved Don't show "Player controls (OSD)" at mouse move
#16
cheers for that mouse config, makes Kodi a hell of a lot more useful with an Airmouse, in my case a Justop F20.
really should be some setting in the UI for this imho since it must be a popular control setup. these controllers go into mouse mode every time you pick them up!

"Alternative keymaps for mice"

" 2 Keymap 2

What it does

Completely disables mouse movement. "

umm....
yeah the first one might be good maybe better than the one posted previously? not sure.

The second one is mainly for airmouse remotes that need to know how to completely disable mousemove.

The one posted previously in this thread has some nice extra stuff too that I want to add as well. Our default keymap doesn't really do anything clever with the mouse, and we now have support for up to 6 buttons, the scroll wheel, and each button can have multiple functions. Click, double click, and long click can all do different things.

As long as people use a mouse-friendly skin, then the mouse really can be made to be a great input device for the livingroom. Even if you don't have a surface for it, trackpads (and even air-mice to a point) can work really well on a couch. The more I think about it, the more I'm starting to warm up to the idea of a mouse.

thanks Mercury_22 for your mouse.xml ...

No more having to put my mouse upside down..
I use my tv as my pc monitor and have windows kodi.. .
so with the mouse on the couch it is always triggering
the osd during a movie.... as stated in the first post extremely annoying..

We've all used a mouse to control Kodi at one time or another, and things like the OSD popping up because you bumped the table is very frustrating. After having tried it out myself, it's a massive improvement and makes a mouse a lot more practical in an otherwise awkward environment.

agreed. i do not see any reasonable use case for the default implementation.

Is it possible to react on mousemovement, only when mouse pointer is over the Kodi Screen. So OSD will not display when mouse is moved outside the Kodi Screen/frame.

You mean when Kodi is not full screen, and is just in a window? I don't believe that is possible at this time.

That xml file doesn't look anything like what it's supposed to.

This is a great discussion and I will try the settings myself eventually because the rolling mouse syndrome on my couch makes the OSD appear annoyingly! Smile

However, if there is some programming tweak, maybe there is a way to shrink the size of the OSD by half or even shorten the time that the OSD appears. If it appeared for 5 seconds, it wouldn't be so annoying. But I think it is on for at least 10 seconds which really digs into what you're watching (especially if you like to use subtitles).

Anyways, does anyone have any idea how to set a 'delay OSD'?

That would be a skin-level tweak. Basically, you need to learn how to modify the skin: Skinning (wiki).
