Growl (growl.info) is a popular system event notifier and logger for Mac OSX, popping up screen alerts for anything from a new email to an over-temperature CPU. It is capable of sending alerts for display on other platforms on the LAN. There's been a couple of old and now seemingly abandoned attempts to get Growl alerts on XBMC. How great would it be to be able to see when a file has finished downloading or a new email had been received on another system while watching a movie or listening to an album?
