leepenny, these are mostly just cd rips from some time ago - not sure where to link you. I had them showing up in the compilations section in an earlier version of XBMC fine, but something's clearly changed!
scott, I checked the albumartist on a bunch of tracks and they all read Various Artists. I tried ticking only Read and Write for ID3v2 and selected ID3v2.3 UTF-16, saving tags and rescanning but still no dice.
