Using a media player as a desktop PC.

This probably isn't an Android question per se, but are there any reasons I couldn't use one of these $100+/- Android boxes as a cheap desktop computer?

It's kind of a perverse thing to do, but I rather like the idea of de-technologizing my office. All of the workstations and RAIDs went back to the company office, and all I really need is something that does an OK version of internet browsing and can playback MP3 files. Double bonus points for being able to print PDF and hook up a scanner.

Not only is it possible, but on a lot of them you can even install a linux OS and have a desktop, browser, etc. Android itself can probably be used for some of that, but hooking up a scanner is probably something you'd have to install Linux to do.
