[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
Question for the ppl with servers. Is it best to keep the bumpers and ads on the server or on the htpc itself?

Send me the m3u for that channel.

Weren't u playing with skinning? Because a problem like that would duplicate itself along all EPG buttons!

From a clean install, no editing. Its not channel type specific either. Its not all buttons just the ones that wordwrap, you know, don't fit in the box and "...." . I stopped making my skin til you were finished changing things.

Theres a solid, non scrolling, white show name that doesn't move. Then theres a gray one (same show/text) behind it that starts scrolling. Huh

Am I on a fool's errand? I cannot find anything about getting XBMC on Android working with PseudoTV. or PseudoTV. Live?

EDIT: I actually got streams to work with the older stable version that was posted. However, when I Autotune and launch it, it looks like it is loading but the progress bar fades out and there is just a black screen. I'm waiting it out hoping it is resolving in the background. Probably not though....

Yeah, I can't get my server files to work at all. I am thinking it is the lack of available memory probably. This is the device I purchased:

Should I put my debug on and create some logs?
Speaking of bumpers and adverts. Am I correct in thinking that using the bumper/advert setting
in Pseudo TV Live would implement my (channel specific) bumpers in all channels?
If that is so, I would have to start looking for general bumpers.

How are other people handling this issue? Do you have any links/collections
for general bumpers for all channels?

Offtopic: First day of snow here. Never loses its magic.

Honestly, I wouldn't think it matters much. Personally, I have mine on my htpc but only because of limited space on server atmSmile

K thanks for the heads up, I'll look into it...

Going to be busy for awhile... Working on some GUI goodies, hopefully including dynamic EPG art that changes based on what is highlighted... not just what is playing...

Love the sound of dynamic art...only thing the EPG is lacking IMO.

Also noticed that directory channels are now pulling art/info even for stuff that is not scraped...very cool. I'm guessing it somehow just pulls the title of the file and matches it with tvdb/tmdb? Either way it's a big step forward for making directory content channels more visually appealing.

Hi Luna,

Just wondering if you had any thoughts on the difference between the two versions and why the older one allows me to load Live TV channels and the latest one doesn't. I have some ideas on system settings I'd like to try that may be the cause of the buffering I have for the Live TV channels. Now that I was able to correct the buffering for the You Tube channels I am very encouraged to see if this works for the Live TV channels. I'd like to try it out on your latest master as soon as I can get them to load.

Let me know if the log file I provided was helpful or you need me to resend something.

Thanks!

I looked at your logs, and don't see any errors with PTVL... if your only problem is buffering; I explained before this has nothing to do with PTVL and more to do with your system or configurations.

The only changes I made recently was to tvdb/tmdb. If you don't have those enabled you are running the same version as the older copy!!

If your system is buffering when you have tvdb/tmdb enabled = slow system, low ram something on your end...

Again buffering happens from within the XBMC player!! all this program does its pass a playlist to the XBMC player!!

If you get a blackscreen or some other crash in PTVL send me a log

I have a lot of shows / movies that do not have clear art, is there a fallback options for those, because currently the space under "Now Watching:"
remains empty. I used Ember for scraping with TV/TMDB and Artwork Downloader to find additional information.

If you are running Luna's default skin or my Frosted Glass skin there are fallbacks for all art types.
I am using Luna's default skin and the space below is simply empty. I did not change any code, just created a few channel logos. What are those fallbacks called?
Do you know the line in the code?

PS: Thanks for getting back to my private message. Sorry not replying.
I'm actually not in front of my computer but check the media folder in his default skin...there should be a image called "poster" and another called "fanart" they are the default fallbacks

I have some ideas about the buffering that I want to try that are not related to PTVL and I understand it's not in your addon, my problem at the moment is that with your latest master I keep getting the black screen when trying to load live channels even though the syntax is exactly the same between the old and new versions. Very odd. I don't have tvdb/tmdb enabled. I'll send some logs again with the blank screen. Thanks for your help!

I didn't see any errors in your log... send a new log, right after the crash...
