Release LazyTV - an unwatched TV Show playlist generator

If I wait until lazy tv is finished reading the library, it doesn't crash when the profile is changed.

If thats the case then there is probably something going on with the Window or database path that is changing with the Profile.

I dont think there is anything I can do. There is no way that I can see that a change in Profile can be detected and the service immediately interrupted and disabled and then re-enabled.

A work-around for you may be to add "xbmc.sleep(60000)" somewhere near the top of the service.py (immediately below the "import xbmc" line would be best). That will have the service wait 60 seconds before progressing, giving you enough time to change the Profile.

Hi guys, question. Does this add on supports playing a random episode but continue playing successive episodes after that? For example select seinfeld, which is already watched a number of times, it would play s07e08 then continue s07e09, s07e10 etc... thanks.

The addon only looks for shows you havent watched. So it wouldnt work for your example.

If you were fine watching unwatched shows then I think you could get that functionality by going into the Settings, and set the random player length to 1 episode. Then go to the extra settings tab and elect to be notified if the next unwatched show is available in your library. You could then hop from episode to episode as you watch them.

I like the icon of the words 'Lazy TV' on the screen of the old school tv with rabbit ears.... Make me feel lazy Smile

Tx.

Here is a link to the image if you want to set it for your install of LazyTV: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yfggbo5drmag3e...nIdea2.png

Just rename it icon.png and replace the existing icon in the LazyTV addon folder.

Thanks! I installed it on my TV box. I couldn't send the "I'm using this plugin" email. But assume you got one from me today. Smile

How do you start the program? Do you have to go to - Programs - Programs Addons - Lazy TV, each time? Or is there a shortcut somewhere?

P.S. Brilliant idea. I couldn't imagine that someone knew exactly what i needed. :-)

Thanks,

Most XBMC skins allow you to put a short-cut on the main menu screen.

This video shows you how to do it on the default skin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gECr0v6imXQ

Does anyone know why lazytv is not moving to the next episode after the prompt? I put the option to display prompt for 5 secs. And then default action play. It just closes the popup and nothing plays next.
And by the way is there a way to make lazytv play the next episode without any prompt at all?

Switch on logging and post the xbmc.log to pastebin.

That should hopefully reveal what is going on.

I can look to add another option to auto-play the next episode if you like. But lets works out the current problem first.

Thanks, that was a bug.

I have submitted the update to the official repo. It should show up in a few hours.

I have also added the ability to set the prompt duration time to zero seconds. That will mean if you have "Play" as the default action, it will automatically play the next episode without a visible prompt.

Wow thanks. You're fast in detecting and rectifying lol. Thanks.

No problem.

A bug is a bug, and the feature was an easy fix as well.

Ok just tested it running as it should. Thanks.

one more question. If I exit Lazytv and explicitly set some episode as watched in xbmc, how can I make lazytv recognize the changes? Basically re analyze the DB?
