RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Nexus)
Hi, what is the current status of the Player Manager? Do you plan to get it merged to v18?

Uploaded a round of released based on the final 18 Beta 1 release. @xodi I fixed the "Failed to install add-on: Shader Preset Support. An unknown error has occurred" error by dropping Windows 10 shader support for now.

Hi,

I tried kodi-20180828-45162a93-retroplayer-18beta1-arm-armeabi-v7a.apk build on my smart tv (MT5596) and my android box (S912) and I got blank screen when I start DOSBox, Mr boom etc.
Only 2048 and Vice C64 are working.

This is the same symptoms which reporter here https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/retroplayer-s912/291 and here https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=329475

I use Android TV 7.0 on both devices.

Here is the debug log http://paste.kodi.tv/akekaqaxuw

Could you investigate and fix this issue, because unable to use retroplayer on Android boxes.

There is not such thing. AFAIK the first Kodi with retroplayer capabiltiies is Kripton.

Retroplayer builds are there since 15 or so.
But no Frodo builds - anyway, why would you need a Frodo build?
And why do you still use WinXP!?

Here is a branch based on Frodo 12.0: https://github.com/garbear/xbmc-retropla...-12-yuv444 . You'll have to compile it yourself.

"Updating an existing xbmc 12.3 to support retroplayer... to copy from source" would be compiling. Here is a guide from that branch, but I have never compiled a version that old, nor on Windows. Just looking at the instructions, you may need to choose an older JDK (probably 7) but the latest may work. Who knows?

New builds uploaded: https://github.com/garbear/xbmc/releases

Rebased on Beta 2, fixed a couple bugs and added a help dialog on first gameplay:

Can't it just be .zip and ask everyone to put their games in a zip file so it doesn't interfere with the other extensions?

I know I use .img and .iso a lot for my training videos.

That's just a temporary measure until ROM parsing or game library is figured out. RP should be adapted to the de facto standards of the existing emulation community, not the other way around. That would require an extra step for a lot of users, especially trying to zip hundreds or thousands of ROMS. It would be like asking everyone who wants to watch videos to use mkv.

Also, some cores do not support zip files.

Good points, Makes sense!

Maybe one day Kodi can get a file association editor Wink
