What version of openelec are you using?

OK I think I see what I have done wrong.

I'll try again.

great to see some progress here... should i remove all bluray releated previous installed plugins like the makemkv from the unofficial repo before testing your stuff?

I'd wait until I build something that will actually install LOL

EDIT:

okay guys i've installed plugin.makemkvbluray-1.1.3.zip... and after 3-4 minutes or so my disc suddenly started to play but only for about 20 seconds. an onscreen message tells me that the blurayplayer cache is full, then it takes another couple of minutes to play a few seconds...
getting closer!!!

Nothing in that log - absolutely nothing.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

yeah there must be a cache / buffering problem... but i don't get it, streaming huge mkv files via network works flawlessly. i'm using an internal bluray drive btw... i did create the advancedsettings.xml in order to edit the cachemembuffersize. the more i've increased the size the longer it took to show something on screen but then it works for more seconds (maybe 40). but this cant be the problem could it?

this is the log http://pastebin.com/aBiszAVW

after i have changed my interlaced settings and let it go through a couple of times it looks like this http://pastebin.com/5ngZZ5YS

as you can see in the last couple lines, it takes about 2-3 minutes untill it plays the movie for about 10-15 seconds, stop and go over and over again. my guess would be a problem with the graphics?

okay guys... same issue when trying to stream http://myip:51000/stream/title3.m2ts with vlc on a different device (in my case a windows computer), so i guess there might be something wrong with makemkv?

Is your makemkv in need of an update? Their perpetual beta cycle means older versions check in at home and stop working until you update.

When the bluray is running bring up the Codec info (c key on keyboard ) have a look at things like cache and cpu load ect
Also if you have a windows machine on the same network as the linux box..Try running Xming http://www.straightrunning.com/XmingNotes/ on the windows machine, use it to start a makemkv gui session on the linux box remotely... then rip a bluray as this will show any errors and may help track down the issue

Ps try a few of the different makemkv plug ins uninstall first then install one of the others... http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=67420&page=30 post 438 try the 3 listed here and the one on the very first page...some will refuse to install just bin em and move onto the next one....

here is the ver Im using at the mo https://www.hightail.com/download/UlRRdF...YUJnRXNUQw

You need the beta-key stored in ~/.MakeMKV/settings.conf also. This was'nt needed in previous versions of makemkv. When you update to an newer version of makemkv you have to check/update the key also.

http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3471

actual key is here:

Thank you guys for your support. Makemkv seems to be up to date, at least it wont tell me that its outdated. I've installed the version nickr has provided a few days back also in this thread. The settings.conf has the latest key, note that makemkv does sort of work, i was able to rip a bluray with ssh commands (but maybe it took too long? Dont have any references).. But direct streaming is the big problem here here.. When i'll be back home tomorrow i'll try what wozza wrote. Concerning the cache and cpu load there doesn't seem to be anything unusual.

@nickr:
Great to see someone working on this for openelec Smile Thank you Very much.

i looked at the addon files and wonder how it works, couldnt try it yet (still on 4.0.7 atm)
The addon installs the necessary binaries and libs into the openelec addons folder.
But how does it tell openelec/xbmc to use the libmmbd library instead of the installed libaacs in the RO File System?

Or is this still using the streaming approach?

i tried the latest version of makemkv on openelec in a chroot and it worked well with the blurays i tried, but of course i couldnt find a way to integrate this into xbmc.
