I have tried without success to get HD audio on my set-up. I have followed the guide from the top of the forum but still no luck. I'd really be grateful if anyone here could shed some light on the issue as I have finally given in and accepted defeat!
I have my HTPC (Radeon HD 7700) connected to a Sony AVR/Blu Ray (BDV-N790W) and then onto my Samsung 3D LED TV (UE55F6800) all through HDMI.
Windows 8 recognizes the Sony AVR and it's listed as SONY AVAMP. I have checked the box for exclusive mode in the advanced tab.
In the Supported Formats window DTS-HD and True HD are both present.
When I try to play a film with either DTS-HD or True HD using WASAPI the video playback is fine but there is no sound at all.
