Hi,
Which i3 has 15W TDP? I can only find one with 35W TDP (Intel Core i3-4130T)

First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
@libgradev: I thought someone told, that mpeg-2 is fixed. Did you try latest in combination with wsnipex test ppa?

whichs is: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~agd5f/linux...fixes-3.13 + the latest artifacts patch

@fritsch Will do over the week-end. Thanks for suggestion.

@fritsch

Its the same. Same error + in rc4 I was able to initialize uvd before the bug and with this tree I cannot.
@EricV: Then it's time to report it to upstream.

@fritsch: hmmm, I am using wsnipex mesa test ppa... I'll try it with your new kernel later - see if I have any luck!
Has anyone noticed stuttering when trying 8X or greater in video fast forward/reverse? I just noticed it since I rarely go over 4X but it was not as smooth as the past and wondered if it was just me.

Hi,

First of all, great work!!! I am following this thread with a lot of excitement.

I am planning to switch from Ubuntu 12.04 + XBMC 12 + XVBA --> Ubuntu 14.04 + XBMC 13 + OSS drivers.
I have some questions:

1) will everything be installed by default with Ubuntu 14.04 (right versions of kernel, mesa, ...)?

2) are there caveats using Ubuntu server instead of Ubuntu mini? (e.g. pulseaudio, wayland or other undesired packages installed by default, ...)

Tnx
1.) I am not the maintainer of Ubuntu - so I don't know
2) Yes - PA is a big bugger, compiz is another one.

radeon vdpau support was planned to be enabled in 13.10 but they didn't, fingers crossed for 14.04.

I have a short question, I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 with an earlier Howto from Post 1. It runs very well for me so I did`nt change it to 13.04.
Now I like to enable Hybernate mode... Is there any reason for did'nt do that with With kernel and settings from the Howto?
I don't want distroy my current setting...
