I had real trouble getting the cmyth pvr addon working. In the end I rolled xbmc and xbmc-bin back to 2:13.0~git20131111.0500-057e39a-0saucy and built the pvr addons from fetzerch's master branch (https://github.com/fetzerch/xbmc-pvr-add...master.zip).

This combo seems to be working ok.

regarding surge in 24fps H264 files:
I switch off Compiz, but the surge is still in. It appears about every 5 seconds but only in 24fps H264 files, not in 25fps or 50fps H264 files.

Is somthing wrong with my configuration, or do other testers see similar effects?

for your information :

@all,

regarding: mini iso

Is it necessary to use the mini-iso for installing Ubuntu 13.10 (as recommended in the how-to)?
I had used the normal Ubuntu 13.10 desktop DVD for installation.

btw.: the Ubuntu 13.10 desktop DVD has no problem with the keyboard.
@ixbeemce: I need the Output of /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc-xrandr

Concerning Ubuntu: xbmc has a problem with two things a) Unity b) pulseaudio - the rest does not matter. If you can cope with those two - you are fine.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
@fritsch

Here is the output of xbmc-xrandr :

regarding Unity:
I had "switched-off" Compiz by using "gnome-session-fallback". Does this disable Compiz?
Not sure, just start xbmc from the login manager and test.

Actually, I believe I'm seeing an effect like this also. Noticed it watching a 24fps movie last night - the credits scrolled smoothly for a bit, then judder, then smooth... Will do some more checking.

I'm also seeing a quit to desktop after a movie finishes (only sometimes) although getting the GPU lockups on MPEG-2 content fixed is more pressing at the moment!
You have an A10. That one should not have mpeg-2 lockups at all. But it is quite brand new hardware.

Mind doing a qvdpautest? Something looks really odd here, when I see all that drops.

@fritsch

I have a dedicated HD6950 that's locking - my logs are posted here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1550441

@fritsch and all

One further point regarding the surge/judder problem with 24fps-movies:
I had made also tests where I switch-off the VDPAU in the system settings, the CPU load increases but the surge/judder problem was still in. So I think it is indenedent from VDPAU.
Please update your xbmc package to latest version. Your's is more than 10 days old. Make sure to use the repo we suggest.

That's a bug for freedesktop.org

@fritsch
I have update xbmc to version: 2:13.0~git20131115.05
but the surge/judder problem with 24fps-movies still exist.

@libgradev: good to hear, that I'm not the only one
No idea. Perhaps someone reads this and tells "me too" :-)
