Yeah, but a funny one, in deed :-)

Hello (fritsch
),
I have the following problem:
With some video files the playback "stutters" now and then for about a second or two. It looks like the playback switches from smooth playback to something like ~10fps and then everything is normal again. With some video files this happens very often, with some never.
dmesg:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/9275241/ (jup, I still have the "no speaker allocation for ELD" problem
)
cat ~/.kodi/temp/kodi.log
http://paste.ubuntu.com/9275253/ (don't wonder about advancedsettings, I played around a bit but it didn't help)
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log
http://paste.ubuntu.com/9275256/
DISPLAY=:0 vdpauinfo
http://paste.ubuntu.com/9275257/
dpkg -l |grep mesa
http://paste.ubuntu.com/9275258/
Some more video settings in Kodi:

http://oi61.tinypic.com/21180g3.jpg
Now the interesting part:
I tried to narrow it down and it seems that with AVC Remux files (untouched Bluray ISO or Bluray AVC Remuxes) this never happens.
With x264 files like 720p tvseries this happens very often, this is mediainfo of a sample file:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/9275230/
The problem completely disappears, when I turn off the setting "Adjust Display Refresh Rate to Match Video". When I turn it on, the problem reappears. But with the setting turned off, the playback is generally worse / not as smooth anymore.
I didn't have that problem with fglrx before.
I hope you know what causes the problem, you are somehow a Einstein with this things
Thank you!

Disable boblight. It is blocking the render.

This was also the case before I installed boblight, so I don't think it has to do anything with it. Wait, I'll reopen the movie with stopped /disabled boblight daemon.

Yeah, so now we two think something different :-) Can you provide a logfile without boblight showing the same effect?

I've disabled boblight. Framedrops still there (not and then again for about 1-2 second). Have a look here:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/9282116/
I am getting a lot "CDVDClock:
iscontinuity - CDVDPlayerAudio::HandleSyncError1" messages with this file, maybe this is the cause?

Your kernel cannot do 24p correctly. Mind trying 3.17.x from ubuntu mainline?
Most disconts I see after a seek in your log.

What is the package name? Currently I have "linux-generic" right?
I only see (sudo apt-get install) linux-image-3.16.0-25-generic as the newest one
btw I did a normal installation like you suggested on the first page

My install went very smoothly however I still have a few issues. I deviated a little bit by using mythbuntu since I like it and has worked well for me in the past with the old catalyst drivers/XBMC install.
One issue is after I use xrandr to reduce my overscan, the movie preview/fanart screen when the movie description is scrolling. Might be tearing, not sure. I dont think it is happening during playback.
Also the TV never comes back on after suspend or power saving if the screen is shut off
Any suggestions?

If you see those it means, you don't have VDPAU working. Those are software methodes. Provide the logfiles from thread 1.

Ok....just to clearify. I got those above among other there also include vdpau-bob (not on mpeg2 streams, but as that is turn on in xbmc setting that makes sense). So I have set it on vdpau-bob as I thoughts that is the best! So shouldent teh above not be displayed at all or?
