Linux Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto)
Err, AMD AM1 Sempron 2650 boxed, 2x 1,45 GHz is 31.36 Euros, AMD AM1 Athlon 5150 boxed, 4x 1,60 GHz is 43.76 Euros. These are both the lower end of the AM1 socket sempron/athlon kabini's. The sempron has a lower gpu clock (450 compared to 600 for the athlon). Basically the most important thing for me is what the gpu can do with the temporal/scaling.
Motherboard can be picked up for approx 29 Euros.
Yeah, cannot say - never tested it myself as I never had that hardware.

Ok, in theory, what would be the minimum amd apu for temporal deinterlacing and lanczos scaling (in hardware)? I would just like to know based on your experience- in intel world we have eu's, but in amd world we have shaders and uvd?
Hi,

I am on xubuntu 14.04.
Last call of the Software Updater reported:
Not all updates can be installed
Runa a partial upgrade, to install as many updates as possible.
Tis can be caused by:
A previous upgrade which didn't complete
Problems with some of the installed software
Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
Normal changes of a pre-release version of Ubuntu

Should I be worried about it?

Regards
No idea, provide what the first page wants and we can compare.

You're missing mesa-vdpau-drivers
Intel Core i5-11500, ASRock B560M-ITX/ac, 240GB SSD + 4TB  Western Digital Blue, Arch Linux, mythtv 31+fixes + TBS 6205 QUAD FREEVIEW DVB-T2
And you are missing gpu drivers:
Quote:16:51:37 T:140553061943232 NOTICE: GL_VENDOR = VMware, Inc.
16:51:37 T:140553061943232 NOTICE: GL_RENDERER = Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.4, 128 bits)
16:51:37 T:140553061943232 NOTICE: GL_VERSION = 2.1 Mesa 10.1.0
16:51:37 T:140553061943232 NOTICE: GL_SHADING_LANGUAGE_VERSION = 1.30

Your upgrade, not the kodi one - the distribution one went fully nuts. Start over again. You have a nice mixture of old Mesa 10.0.4 packages 10.1 packages and so on.

Dammit. And how do I install GPU drivers?
See the first post - follow that and it will work. If not: www.openelec.tv

*Sigh*... I figured out... Remove all mesa, xorg, thirdparty and other driver, update/upgrade, reinstall all again, restart, and now it's work like yesterday, but now version Kodi.

Thank you.

Another story: I use Mysql database, but the wiki says:
"Proceed with caution. Some users are having issues with v14 and MySQL. "
What does it means, what issues?
No idea - not in the mysql department.

I run MySQL on my WHS2011 and I have not had any issues.

Having issues myself with an install of Kodi 14.0, on Ubuntu 14.04 using the Radeon OSS driver. This is a new install on hardware (Radeon 5550) that's done fine with XBMC Xvba 13.0 with the fglrx driver before.

I found this thread and have set it up to what I think is correct. I have Kodi able to start, have sound too via HDMI. However, when attempting to play a video Kodi crashes.

I noticed a comment about Mesa 10.5 problems. I have that too. How do I keep the VDPAU Mesa and yet downgrade to 10.1.3?

I thought the whole point was to use the drivers from the PPA ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers
