The tv shows folder does not appear when I open XMBC.

I suspect you need to add a source, (video files) and specify in the scraper the folder as TV shows.

How do I do that?

Welcome to the XBMC forums.

Your first post is very lacking in details. Do you already have TV show/episode files either on your XBMC system's hard drive or a local file server that can be accessed by your XBMC system? Have you organized and named these files so they can be scanned into your library, as explained here? To add your TV shows location as a video source, see here. When that's done, you can have the contents of that source location scanned and your TV shows/episodes will be added to the video library. Once you have a library, the "TV SHOWS" option will be displayed on the home page menu.
