After rebuilding the thumbnails, my poster art looks pixelated.
Here's a screenshot:

However, the actual stored thumbnails (on smb disk) look just fine.

I can confirm seeing the same problem. Downscaled thumbnails from the poster art results in really bad pixelated low res looking thumbnails.

Hmm, odd. I think I saw this once before, but I'm not sure. I'll mess around with my ATV2 and see if I can get it to happen to myself.

Any news on this? Installed XBMC 12.3 on a new ATV2, still the same problem.
